PORTRAITS: Because I Asked

Easter Bunny Inspection: Reporter Nicholas Mendola spent a day in the life of the Easter Bunny. Expecting to deliver only the best chocolate at Easter, the bunny made an inspection stop at Platter's Chocolates on Oliver Street, where he reviewed troops Florence Felvus, left, and Diane Russell, both chocolates trimmers. The women said it was an honor to serve under E. Bunny this time of year, though he's more stern a task master than the man in the red suite, or the little winged guy with the bow and arrows.

Faux Poster: My friends know I like to make fake posters, so while visiting my good friends Don and Marybeth in Florida, I blurted out the question, "Marybeth, would you dress up like a drug addicted drunken Courtney Love type rock star at the end of her career with runny makeup and let me photograph you for a poster that mocks the pretentious high priced gallery crap downtown?" (Yes, full run on sentence) Imagine my surprise when she said yes. The result was a fun evening with my two best friends, pool-side, at their Palm Beach home. Click on image for bigger view.

My Neighbor Ike: Stitched panoramic portraits can be really fun I discovered when calibrating a lens to a new work flow. My neighbor Ike came over to see what the heck I was doing, so I asked him to help our. This is a single image made by stitching 18 individual pictures taken in a circle. Click for larger image.

Artist Jonathan Rogers: I asked artist Jonathan Rogers to hold up his self Portrait. Wes Hall: Starpoint swimmer Wes Hall, 17, is on his way to Clarkson University after becoming the first winner of the Robert A. Pauley scholarship. Applauding his achievement from left are, Tim Menges, head coach, his parents Christine & Curtis Hall, Lindsey Oddy, assistant coach and Tom Sarkovics, athletic director.

Secret Gardens: I asked this poor woman to crawl on her back in between these Hasta for this photo. Jackie L., of Lewiston, NY, is letting her secret Hosta Garden out of the bag for all to see during the “Our Secret Gardens,” 11th annual open garden week in June 2005.

SPCA Thank You: The first day I had my new cat Rover I decided to send some photos to famlily and friends. Well, it got out of hand after he had a "few," but it sure made a great thank you to the SPCA. Infact they ran it in a monthly newsletter. Click image for larger view.
